The church of Jesus Christ is just that… His church. Jesus is the good shepherd who leads His people to green pastures and beside still waters. He is the Chief Shepherd, the head of the body, who guides and instructs His people in their journey toward eternity. He is the Great Shepherd who laid down His life for the souls of those who would trust Him.

What a privilege to consider that Jesus has called men to help shepherd His flock. In a culture that is celebrity-driven and self-seeking, it’s vital to be reminded that pastors are called to model Jesus in serving, leading, feeding, and protecting the flock.
